Cape Parks New Event in Cape: Cape Girardeau Roller Derby Recruitment Night

Are you interested in making friends, getting fit, volunteering, or doing something fun? These are all benefits of joining the Cape Girardeau Roller Derby, and they are recruiting for the new year! The CGRD is holding an informational recruitment event on January 30th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the AC Brase Arena. The event is free, and you will meet the team, learn about roller derby, and even skate! If you want to skate that evening, you will need to purchase a boil-and-bite mouthguard (available in the sporting goods section of local stores). Loaner skates and protective gear are available on a first-come, first serve basis. If the CGRD is right for you, the boot camp is a three-month course consisting of two practices per week, during which recruits will learn basic skating techniques, and one optional outdoor workout per week (weather permitting). Boot camp fees are $25 per month.

CGRD welcomes adults of all genders and fitness levels—no skating experience is necessary. This experience is great for anyone looking to relieve stress or learn something new. Check out their Facebook event and message them with any questions.
