Make a plan to vote Tuesday. Polling locations are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Your ballot includes initiatives and several very important board positions. Missouri voters passed Amendment 3 to legalize recreational marijuana, and to give voters the option to tax the sales at 3%. You can vote April 4 on this issue. * Only recreational marijuana shoppers would pay the tax * Additional revenue is estimated to start at $153,660/year. * Set by the community and City Council each year through the budget process, the money would be used for priorities such as police, fire, streets, parks, and other services. * Up to 25% would be earmarked each year for mental health and drug treatment and prevention, coordinated by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Find a sample ballot with all candidates for the special road district, health department, school board, and more on the Cape Girardeau County Elections webpage. Learn More
