We're looking for a Plan Reviewer & Site Inspector, are you looking to work with a fantastic group of people?? This position is responsible for interpreting and enforcing city building, development zoning, floodplain and stormwater codes, and other ordinances pertaining to building construction or alteration and land use. The major duties of this position include: Reviews commercial and residential building plans, including reviewing for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and accessibility. Reviews site plans to ensure compliance with zoning, development, floodplain and stormwater codes, including review of sidewalks, driveways, retaining walls, signs, fences, photometric plans and landscaping plans Answers general code and ordinance questions in person, on the telephone and in email. Inspects commercial and residential sites for compliance with zoning and development codes. Contacts and investigates site violations. Position requires knowledge of building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes, and accessibility standards. Knowledge of materials and methods employed in building construction and renovation. Knowledge in principles and practices of structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. Candidate should have skills with interpreting drawings and plans, excellent oral and written communication, and computer skills. B.S. degree in Engineering or Architecture is required. ICC Certified Plans Examiner, or ability to become certified within 12 months. A valid driver’s license is required. Preference may be given to candidates that are a licensed PE or Architect.
