This fall, the Fire Department is conducting its annual Hydrant Testing process where each fire hydrant in the city is opened and evaluated. Firefighters measure the pressure and flow of each hydrant. This data is helpful so that in the event of an emergency, we know how much water the closest hydrant can supply. Did you know: Fire Hydrants can deliver between 500 - 2,000 gallons of water per minute, depending on the size of the water main? Check out this beautiful double rainbow that was seen as firefighters were testing hydrants recently! Also, there is a chance that your water may be cloudy or discolored after a hydrant is tested in front of your residence. If so, just turn on a faucet in your residence and it should clear up in a few minutes. Learn More
