Today, we celebrate the retirement of Driver/Operator Steve Mirly from the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, after 24 years of service. He is working his last shift on A Shift today, as the Acting Captain of Engine 1. Driver/Operator Mirly was presented with an engraved axe, personalized helmet shield, and a special crew dinner. His son, Logan Mirly, who is a former Cape Girardeau Firefighter and who currently works for the St. Charles Fire Department, came to join him on his final day. We are thankful for his service and wish him a long, healthy, and enjoyable retirement. Pictures include Fire Chief Randy Morris Jr., Acting Battalion Chief Kelly Allen, Local 1084 Treasurer Greg Foote, and fellow Retirees. Additionally, a special radio tribute was provided by our 911 Communicator. See video below. Learn More
